Message form the President: Lake Pump Update

As your Association President, I would like to recommend the following action at this time to correct our well problem.  Invest between $2,000 to $2,500 and have our failed pump motor repaired.  The only other choice at this time, is to totally replace the well assembly on the existing  site.  This cost would be about $25,000 to $28,000, it is your decision.

I will share a wealth of information about our well at the October 21st general meeting.  Hopefully, this will help you make the right decision when you vote on the fate of our well in the future.

Robert F. Jones
President, Duck Lake Property Owners Association

UPDATE (October 26)
The decision about the lake’s well pump will go to the Duck Lake Board as it is a matter of lake quality and maintenance. A meeting has been requested, and the date will be published when available.

  1. If you ever attended a meeting prior to the Oct. 221st and the information session Nov 5th – you would know that our mtg were always done in a excellent professional fashion. The clowns that were disrespectful, rude and drunk were the exception. I agree those few were ridiculous and it is a shame we couldn’t do what we wanted done because of the drunk, rude few.

  2. Toni – This was also explained at the mtg. if anyone took the time to listen. Too many big mouths shouting and throwing insults. We need to work together.

    • The response from Toni was on the 2nd before the meeting, I honestly understand why lake stay away from the board meetings. You people are ridiculous. TIME FOR A CHANGE ! Ryan will be a great new President. He gets along with everyone not a chosen few! VOTE FOR RYAN

      • The last two session are the only ones that ever have been ridiculous. That is because a few people came with the only purpose t disrupt and upset everyone else. Obviously they have an agenda that the rest of us know nothing about. Rude, disruptive and abusive persons have no business with the rest of the humans. I agree they were actually ridiculous.

      • I still hope Bob Jones runs for President. He knows this lake and loves it as much as anyone. Hopefully, he will be get some new blood for trustees and board that has the time to help him out and learn more about the internal operation of the lake.

      • Reply to Time for a change. How in the world can you sat “Ryan” gets along with everyone. No one knows him. He has only been on the lake several years and we have never seen or heard of him. I’m sure he is intelligent person, however, let’s let him decide if he wants to be involved.

  3. Don’t we get to decide which route we go 2,500 $ for a repair or up to 58,000$ for a new well. Then send that decision to the county lake board for approval

    • I believe the way it SHOULD work is WE (lake residence) vote on what action we would like and our lake rep takes that to the Duck Lake Improvement Board meeting. Oakland county ultimately decides the best course of action – but because WE (lake residence) pay the bills they will take our input in to consideration when making the decision. This was explained to me by the civil engineer that has looked at our well. His name is Joel T Brown.

  4. When will we be deciding what to do with the well no decision or vote was taken at the Oct. 21 meeting

    • Anon – this will go to the Duck Lake Board. We requested a meeting of the board and will post the date when it is set.

  5. Please advise the number of lakefront and back-lot property owners on Duck Lake . Thanks
