In advance of this meeting your officers have prepared an agenda, which you can view here. Our aim is to have a standard meeting format so you know what to expect in each meeting. When possible, we will share topics planned for discussion in advance of the meeting.

I think that a review for a lake patrol should be done ASAP. The loud negative voices may not represent the silent majority. From my neighbors last year I only heard a positive view for a cop on the lake. But we live on the lake not a canal or off lake so we see the stupidity that occurs each day.

I also live on the main part of the lake and watch the stupidity occur despite the presence of the sheriff. My swim raft was hit three different times during broad daylight while I was outside. This same swim platform that my children play on–Sheriff can’t stop that nor did anything about it when I brought it to his attention. The sheriff was rarely present at the busiest times of our lake and not even present on every holiday weekend. I also watch this same sheriff gas his boat via a long gas hose dropped over the side of the Chevron bridge from a vehicle on the bridge.

Would it be possible to get the meeting minutes from Jan 20th meeting? I would like to use it to inform our District.

Hi Mel,
I’ve posted the link to the draft version on our meetings page: https://ducklakepoa.org/meetings/
Please keep in mind these technically are not approved or final until they are read, updated, and approved in the next meeting.
Thanks,
Leslie

For all the criticism of Bob Jones, he has inadvertently motivated the lake owners to finally get involved. And I really think the change will be the best for our lake. And Bob should be give a grand send off, no one but he showed any interest in the lake for years.

I agree. No body gave a crap until those who did got together out of their own pockets to bring some law enforcement back to help curve the dangerous actions of a handful of idiots on this lake who think they are the only ones who own the lake and can do what they want. Seeing the big turn out after this happens worries me that those wanting to get involve now may be those idiots.

Hi Anon,
I understand you have strong opinions, which you are absolutely entitled to, and we welcome you to express them in this forum. Lake safety is a serious issue and I don’t believe anyone would disagree with that. However, please do be respectful of your fellow residents and refrain from name-calling. There are a range of opinions about the marine patrol among Duck Lake residents and among the board members. The board and officers are in place to make decisions and take action on behalf of all DLPOA members with the remit to represent the needs and desires of the majority collective. If you have specific concerns you’d like to raise I encourage you to get in contact with your district representative. If you do not know who this is or how to contact them, please feel free to call or email us with your district (or address) and we can help get you in contact with the right person or address your concerns directly.
Thank you,
Leslie

I like the direction in which the DLPOA is heading. Will be nice to see a financial report.
