Call for Trustees and Officers

Hello neighbors!

It’s hard to believe the 2016 boating season is coming to an end. The coming of fall means our annual meeting and elections. The 2016-2017 season elections will take place October 19 at 7:30 pm at the Highland Sr. Center.

If you are interested in becoming a trustee for your district or would like to run for one of the five (5) officer positions, please ADD A COMMENT TO THIS POST and share:

  • Your name
  • Your district
  • What position you are running for
  • Why you would like this position

Any full-time DLPOA resident is eligible.  Learn more about district reps and officers here.

Please note that in addition to voting for new trustees and officers, there will also be a vote on proposed changes to the by-laws, which have been brought forth by the By-Law Committee. You can see the full by-laws with proposed changes here. Only one vote per household will be accepted. Residency will be verified, so please bring a form of identification with your address. You must be present to vote.

The fall newsletter should hit your mailbox (or inbox) soon. You may also get a digital copy of the newsletter here. This newsletter contains important information about what’s been going on around the lake. The topics addressed will also be discussed in the fall meeting.

We look forward to seeing you there!

  1. First of all, I’m sorry to hear about your issues Leslie. I hope you are successful in your attempts to conquer this speed bump.

Secondly, I am interested in running for district representative for District 3.

    District 3
    District Representative

I am interested in running since there is little participation from my district and I want to make sure that we are represented in some way. I have been a participant in these meetings for a while and attend them when I am in town. I have lived here for 23 years and have watched the lake and neighborhoods evolve so I have some basic knowledge in our changing surroundings.

  2. Hello friends!

I just wanted to let you all know that I will NOT be running for Secretary for the 2016-2017 season.

I have found that fulfilling these duties is a challenge for me because I travel too frequently for my job. As a result, I often miss meetings and require someone to fill in to record the meeting minutes (an important function of this role!) This will become even more difficult moving forward, as Nathan and I have decided to spend our winters in Scottsdale, AZ with the hope of slowing the progression of my Rheumatoid Arthritis.

If you’re interested in the role of Secretary, I encourage you to run and announce your candidacy here. You will be provided all of the templates I’ve created, which hopefully has brought improved structure and transparency to the operations and communications for this community. I am also happy to continue to serve as primary web administrator if so desired by the Officers.

Thank you for letting me serve you this year!

    Best regards,

    Leslie Alore
    DLPOA Secretary 2015-2016
