  1. How do I get a key for the Davista launch? I live on the lake and want to put my boat in the water?

    Have a Great Day !!!

  2. This thorough report will be useful in the Duck Lake Association making educated decisions regarding management of Duck Lake. One condition I would like to see changed, which will not cost the Association any money, is a stop to allowing residents to draw water from the lake for the purpose of irrigating their lawns. Additionally, I think that the use of fertilizers on lawns adjacent to the lake (generally back yards) should be forbidden. That fertilizer ends up in the lake and I can’t help but wonder if the proliferation of the aquatic plants, and particularly those undesirable plants, is due to lawn fertilizer flowing into the lake.

  3. As I re-contemplate this excellent report. AND I admit that I only skimmed the report. but I don’t find any comments/findings/recommendations related to the street drains (at least 4) on Chevron (over the bridge) that drains county road salt, car oil, fertilizer, etc. into the adjacent canal. Nor does it reference the drains that empty into the “pond” in Axford Acres that (urban legend claims) is connected to Duck Lake via a culvert.
I don’t know about the other subs or if they are part of Duck Lake’s water system. They may also be directly draining into Duck Lake.
But I would think that any direct “drains” are not part of this “wetland” areas in the report.
I suggest that you ask for a “Free” “addendum” (since we paid for the original, but it was incomplete), that will include the impact of these direct “street/parking lot” (the report did reference “parking lot” run-off) input to the Duck Lake recommendations.
Also, for “Free”, more emphasis should be put upon how the up stream flow from White Lake would affect any actions we select on Duck Lake. ie. Their lack of weed control becomes our future weed/lake plan.
Again, this is not a criticism, but for the money you/we have spent, as much as possible should be obtained.

  4. Excellent info. I hope that once the board determines how to proceed. That they will hold a separate meeting or dedicate a large portion of their regular meeting to present the plan to the residents of Duck Lake.
I also hope that there will an above average effort to inform the residents of this meeting so maximum attendance can occur and maximum “buy-in” results.
I assume that any plan will NOT include the use of Federal or State moneys if those funds would allow the general public’s use of Duck Lake.
