Lake Level/Augmentation Well

Hello All,

I wanted to shoot a quick update to address the issues regarding the lake level.  I have fielded some phone calls, read a few posts on the website and listened to your concerns at our DLPOA board meeting last night about the current lake level.  My guess would be due to the awareness that our well is in the process of being replaced, which is still very much on track, the water level has been the proverbial elephant in the room.  While we have been informed that our water level is very much on track, if not ahead of pace, to its annual yearly level for the same time, there was still concern that we should be keeping more water as added insurance.  The DLPOA has heard your concerns and voiced them to the WRC in the hopes that they would be able to take action.  Well, they heard our calls and they have acted.  Please see the below email from Jason Say, our WRC Drain Maintenance & Lake Level Engineer.  Please note that Jason, and the WRC, have been working with us as a partner to help us get our well and water level issues figured out this last year.  Together we are going to make sure that this well is installed with as little disruption as possible, to insure we can enjoy the lake all summer long.

Thanks,

Ryan Charlton, President, DLPOA

Ryan,

At your request (and many other residents requests), I have spoken to our Lake Level Technicians about holding back a little bit more water than usually for this time of the year (winter legal level in effect) in efforts to achieve a higher lake level approaching spring. Once we reach summer legal levels, we will then attempt to hold the level a bit higher throughout the summer until the augmentation well project is completed. If any residents express concerns or experience issues due to slightly higher lake levels, please let me know and we will adjust the control structure accordingly.

Thank you,

  1. Once again. The Duck Lake board and trustees are doing all they can to keep Duck lk a great lake to live on. Thanks.

  2. I wonder why we are so low and White lake is at or above summer levels ? To me it doesn’t make sense.

  3. Jason at the WRC just emailed us this morning as follows: “The Lake Tech’s will be going out later today to place the board for summer legal level.” So we should start to see the lake rise, partially because White Lake is above even their summer level and should be spilling water to Duck Lake.
