Did You Know…
Each and every one of us is accountable for keeping our lake safe by being courteous to others and following boater safety rules.
Some tips for ensuring safe boating:
- Travel around the lake in a counterclockwise direction
- Yield to non-motorized watercraft (kayaks, paddle boats, sail boats, etc.) and those with people in tow (tubers, skiers, etc.)
- Ensure your MCs and registration tags are visible and up to date
- Do not make wake in ‘no wake’ areas
- Personal water crafts (PWCs), such as wave runners and jetskis should not be operated before sunrise or after sunset
- All operators of PWCs born after 1978 must have completed a boater safety class and carry their certification on board.
- Be sure you always have the following on board:
- a personal floatation device (PFD) for every occupant and anyone being towed behind the vessel
- a fire extinguisher
- a sound-producing device, such as a whistle or air horn
- a visual distress signal, such as a flair or flag
- working lights (red, green and white)

When can I make wake?
Do you know when and where you can and cannot make wake? You cannot make wake if:
- You are in a “no-wake” zone, as indicated by buoy markers
- If you are within 100 feet of the shore or a designated swim zone
