Call for Trustees and Officers

Hello neighbors!

It’s hard to believe the 2016 boating season is coming to an end. The coming of fall means our annual meeting and elections. The 2016-2017 season elections will take place October 19 at 7:30 pm at the Highland Sr. Center.

If you are interested in becoming a trustee for your district or would like to run for one of the five (5) officer positions, please ADD A COMMENT TO THIS POST and share:

  • Your name
  • Your district
  • What position you are running for
  • Why you would like this position

Any full-time DLPOA resident is eligible.  Learn more about district reps and officers here.

Please note that in addition to voting for new trustees and officers, there will also be a vote on proposed changes to the by-laws, which have been brought forth by the By-Law Committee. You can see the full by-laws with proposed changes here. Only one vote per household will be accepted. Residency will be verified, so please bring a form of identification with your address. You must be present to vote.

The fall newsletter should hit your mailbox (or inbox) soon. You may also get a digital copy of the newsletter here. This newsletter contains important information about what’s been going on around the lake. The topics addressed will also be discussed in the fall meeting.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Reminder: September 21 Meeting

This is a reminder that the September meeting will take place Wednesday, Sept 21 at 7:30 pm and at Highland Sr. Center.

This month we will get an update from the Muck Remediation committee regarding recommended next steps. We will also discuss topics for the fall newsletter and the fall meeting, during which elections will be held. The Fall Meeting & Elections will be held on October 19 at 7:30pm. Topics for discussion will be limited in order to allow time for elections.

This is a public meeting and all DLPOA residents are welcome to attend. We have received numerous requests from regular attendees to keep the meeting focus on new topics. For those of you planning to attend who have not attended past meetings, we welcome you to review the meeting minutes for past meetings for any topics that may have already been discussed. We will not revisit old topics in meetings moving forward, unless there is new information to communicate and discuss. Thank you!

Seven Craven Beach Reopened

Update August 12:

The Seven Craven Beach has tested negative for high bacteria levels and the beach has reopened.

August 10

Hi folks,

We learned today that the beach off Craven and Bay Ridge Roads has tested positive for high bacteria levels.  The Department of Environmental Quality’s web site has full details.  The DEQ recommends that this beach remain closed until tests come back negative.  This advisory does NOT apply to the entire lake.

As the link above indicates, this is most likely due to wildlife in the area, not storm water runoff or septic issues.  The link erroneously refers to Axford Acres.  Note that the Axford Acres beach off Ramada was tested and results were negative for high bacteria levels.
