  2. Anyone missing a section of dock? Aluminum frame with wood decking. Looks to be about 12 feet long. Washed up on Orchard Dr.

  3. Just wanted to ask if anyone knows about something submerged over on big Duck?? My brother in law hit it and wreaked his prop!! Found a rope tied to something and it’s to heavy to pull up…its over by the yellow slide.. His cost is over $500.00 for a new prop.. sure would hate for some one else to hit it.. boating season will be beginning soon ( hopefully) let me know if you know anything about this

    • Obviously an anchor for something.
I took out my lower unit hitting the Swim Area buoys anchor off of Davista two years ago.
I contacted that association, as l was not happy about it. I could have made them pay for my repairs, but l chose not to, as the money would have impacted that association’s funds used to keep that swim area in great condition.
They did promptly remidy the threat.

    • We have heard about this, but no one is sure what, or how it got there. Hopefully it was not something left on the ice this winter and now sunk.

Are you able to see it from the water when in a boat? Just hoping maybe your brother-in law can help find it again so that we can figure out a way to get it removed.

Please let me know if he is willing to help.

      Thanks,

  4. Lots of precious rainfall. But is it filling our lake? Are the dam boards in place, as promised? As paid for to be?
We will observe this issue, measuring tape in hand. If the WRC, that our tax money pays for, did not get the other “tax dollars sucking entity” to do their job, we will take it upon ourselves to help Duck Lake to become Great Again, for this 2019 boating season.
Not sure if we will be breaking any law, but really don’t care at this point.
We are all for draining the swamp. Just not for draining Duck Lake.
    You are welcome.
See you out on the water soon!
    Have a Blessed Easter!

  7. When will they put the board in the dam so the lake level comes up?

    • forgot to put my email

    • The WRC notified us on Monday that they would instruct their lake level techs to begin putting boards back in the dam so that spring runoff could begin to bring the lake up to summer levels.

      • Spring thaw/run off is over. Now that we missed that, and missed some good rains thus far, we can only hope the WRC acts quickly putting the boards in place ASAP. The lake level is a good 6″ – 8″ where it ought to be this time of year.
l can understand why someone would take it upon themselves to put the boards in place when the WRC fails to act in a timely fashion.
But then again, that is the government for you. Two steps forward. One step back.

        • Yes, on April 12, the lake was 4″ below the summer legal level of 1016.63″ and 6″ below the upper allowable level that most have come to expect. They are supposed to lower the level 6″ by November 1 and that never happened.
We could certainly do a better job of managing our own lake level. Maybe it it time to make a push to do that. We are allowed to manage our own weed control program, why not our lake level? I am still out of town, but could this be an item of discussion for tonight’s annual meeting? Possibly formally passing a resolution asking the WRC to allow us to manage the lake level under their supervision?

          • If we have the chops to organize and run a $1.5 million lake aeration/restoration program, we certainly have the ability to manage something as simple as keeping track of boards in a dam.

          • If we have the chops to organize and run a $1.5 million lake aeration/restoration program, we certainly can manage 3 or 4 boards in a dam.

  8. Wow, nothing since the D-day invasion has looked so impressive to me.
I do have a question; since South Bay Shores is a relatively new addition to Duck Lake. Are they paying for the bubblers also?

    • Hello,

In terms of payment, everyone that is in the Duck Lake Property Owners Association has/is contributed to the aeration system. There are roughly 1150 addresses in the assessment district, and that does include all of South Bay Shores. If you are not paying for the aeration system, then you are not in the assessment district and do not have access to Duck Lake.

Please let me know if you have any other questions and I will make sure to get them answered.

      Thanks,
      Ryan

  9. At the Axford Acres meeting yesterday the question came up of Pfas; Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in water systems in our area. One person said it was not in our lake but was in the Huron River. My question is did the last report on water quality look at this particular chemical? If not can they during their next testing? I’ve been told you should not eat any fish if the water is contaminated. Thank you

  10. I see bubbles again. Thanks for the fast service!
