  1. I believe several of the diffusers at the south end (as you exit) of the narrows (site 7 area) are not working. Not sure how to explain the area any better, I could not find a map with identification numbers for the diffusers.

  2. The compressors or bubblers are not working in the canal (boat launch area) of South Bay Shores Sub. Have not been working for a couple of days. Not sure who to call or let know of the problem.

  3. In two days we had nearly 3.5″ of rain over Duck Lake, now totaling 6.6″ for July, bringing the lake level to 6.5″ above the legal level. (I have two digital rain gauges at my home) I checked the dam yesterday and found boards had been added so that the lake would need to rise another 2-3 inches to even begin spilling water. I called left a message last evening with Jason Say of the WRC to report my findings. He said lake techs were out this morning to remove boards to begin spilling water and he would ask why the boards were set incorrectly. I will post again when he gets an answer.

  4. Are there any lake restrictions with the enzyme treatment this week?

    • Hi Travis,

So sorry for the late reply. I am guessing you saw from the lake usage this weekend, that no, there are no restrictions when the enzymes are being applied. They are 100% safe and FDA approved. That is why there are no signs posted. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

      Thanks,
      Ryan

  5. What type of well water filtration for your house do you recommend, espescially for water softening and iron filtration?

    • We purchased an iron filter (and a new softener) this winter from Advanced Water Treatment & Well Drilling and have been very pleased. Before we only had the water softener and a carbon filter and it didn’t work nearly as well.

Specialty it was an EV-AIR 10×54 Iron/Sulfur Filter Carbon

    • Personally, I have a sediment pre-filter, softener, and a whole-house carbon filter for the house, then reverse osmosis filter connected to my fridge for drinking water. I purchased all of it at Lowe’s and installed it all. Lots of services out there, tho, if you don’t want to do it yourself.

    • I use a 45000 grain whirlpool water softener purchased at lowes 8 years ago. i use the green bags of salt for iron. a basic frige water filter thats it. thats for a small 2 bedroom 1 bath house. never a problem. 1 week before the toliet porcelin starts to iron stain.

  6. Lake Savors treated the bay by Castle Ct around June 15.

  7. Nothing mentioned about the enzymes going in the lake on July 8. Did they do this?

  8. There was a dog roaming down the shoreline on little duck heading towards Willow Lane at 10pm

  9. Was down to the dam and the water is just flowing freely out . Does anyone know why this is happening we are losing water level rapidly . With the hot weather and sprinklers being used we will soon be a pond.

    • We are still a bit more more than two inches above the legal level. Weather Underground predicts about 0.8” of rain this week. That should more than offset the evaporation, if it actually rains. It is a fine balancing act.

  10. Are they going to do anymore spraying of weeds before the Holiday? The weed around our dock plus the houses on both sides of us are really bad. This is the worst it’s been in a couple years. I live at 2162 Jackson on middle duck right off Flynn Drive. Thank You.

    • I believe that area was treated a couple weeks ago so they may still be dying off. I will mention it to the treatment company, though, so they can take a look.

      • He was actually on the lake yesterday when I told him about this area so he was able to touch up those areas. You should see them go down in the next week or so.
