  1. The bubblers on white lake rd side of lake are not working this morning. They were working when power came back on Sunday morning and this morning they are not. May have something to do with unit in Josh’s yard. Please check into it. Thank you

  2. Hi!
Does the gentleman that checks the lake level have the contact info for the WRC? They still haven’t put any more boards in and it’s starting to overflow even though the lake isn’t up to legal level yet. I was going to call and ask if someone hasn’t already called them. Thanks

    • Thanks for the information. Last time I checked, several weeks ago, the boards were at the +2″ level. I will verify and call if needed. After last nights rain (an inch) the lake is just over an inch below our preferred +2″ level. Yea, we don’t want to be spilling our precious water. BTW, no reason for anyone to be irrigating their lawns for at least several days.

    • I checked the boards this morning. No water going over the boards. Another half inch and water will start to trickle over. Boards are set about as close as can be expected.

      • Hi Ole,
Is there a reason they won’t put another set of boards in to prevent overflow? This is the same level they kept the boards this winter and in past summers they have one more board in.

        • Dana,

I am not comfortable asking them to come out and change out the boards so they are just one inch higher. They are under no obligation to maintain the +2″ level, that number is in the lake level order to allow them to not spill water during a dry period just to maintain the actual legal level. If one inch of water was spilling over the 3′ wide weir, it would take over a month to drop the lake an inch, so don’t be concerned if a bit of water does spill over the top. Remember how long it takes to bring the lake down even with water thundering over the weir? One strong storm and they will be out here pulling boards. Their focus is directed more at preventing flooding than getting us that last inch of water. Call if you must, their number is on the WRC website. BTW, we do appreciate you keeping an eye on the outlet structure. Please let me know if you see something wrong. You can contact me at cj7ole@comcast.net or 248-821-1017.

  3. Any fireworks this holiday weekend on Duck Lake?

  4. What is the name of the company that installed the aeration system? I had someone ask for the contact info to inquire about a system on their lake in Cadillac.

  5. Finally getting our share of some good rain!!!

  6. DLPOA Board Meeting 6/16/21 7:30pm-9pm
Hello members this is a reminder that we will have our regularly scheduled 3rd Wednesday of the month board meeting this Wednesday 6/16 at 7:30pm @ Axford Acres Beach.

I am able to help out with the cut lines issues.
Being semi retired, I have time to make this lake a better haven and playground for us all.
My only other lake duty is helping out in the Zoo.
Let me know. To be charged $180 per cut line repair is highway robbery. No reason for such nonsense. We can find more productive lake issues to spend our money on.

  10. Low water is causing a huge increase in bubbler line cuts. 30 this year so far IIRC. Many (not all) so deep it would seem it could only be from deep draft wake boats. Would some education be in order? Another reason to try to get the lake up to +2″ over legal. Another 6-7″ would be great. Right now we at 4.5″ below legal or 6.5″ below our allowable level. Time for a rain dance folks.

And we pay about $180 per line cut because our contractor must come from Kalamazoo. Jeff offered to train a local volunteer to repair the breaks as they happen. Even if we paid a local to do the work, we could save a lot of money. Anybody interested?
