  1. Sincere aeration system has begun this season, we have not had any action back in the Imperial Bay. That’s the bay past the 2nd bridge. They have not been on once this season.

  2. No bubblers in the narrows, yet?

  3. Lost & found:

One those roll up swim platforms was found floating under the bigger Axford Acres bridge, along Pepper Trail. Ping us at DuckLakePOA.org if it’s yours.

  4. When will the county take the boards out of the dam for winter level?

    • The WRC typically begins the draw down process mid October to achieve the winter legal level around November 1. Techs from the the WRC’s Construction Drain Maintenance (CDM) team were on site this week attending to the dam and pump.

  5. I’m a new resident at Duck Lake. Can anyone tell me if there is maximum length a dock can be? I don’t see many long docks.

  6. The Lake level has receded oh about 5″ of surface depth in the last 10 days.. I hope we can put the cork back in before it reached winter depth.

    • Right now the lake is within a quarter inch of the legal summer level. I am surprised they were able to get it down so quickly after getting 9 inches of precipitation in July and another 3 so far this month. I can’t speak as to where the stop logs are now. They should be set at the current lake level.

  7. The milfoil are coming back pretty quickly, especially east side of Little Duck. Every day I see more and more poking their heads out of the water and now some are laying flat and thick. Last couple years Aug/sept little duck became useless with these invasive weeds and other sections of Duck Lake. Hope we can get them treated soon so we can enjoy the rest of the summer. I called the hotline but it just rang and rang.

    • we will have Aquaweed check it out. Thanks for letting us know.

    • They surveyed the lake and found some things near shore but nothing too bad out in the main parts. Let’s wait just a little longer and see how it goes before we commit more money to it. We are approaching the budget limit already this year due to the big treatment in the spring and lack of ice last winter. We will keep an eye on it. Thanks again for letting us know.

      • Not sure what they looked at in little duck. It is there over 100ft off shore in spots. It is where it always starts, in the shallower water and in time those weeds growing in deeper water will make it to the top and the lake will choke out like it has repeatedly done the past several summers. Wait till its full grown and do nothing or put all of those back on the bottom to make more muck. I thought we want to nip the problem before it becomes a problem. but if they say nothing there and there is no problem then I guess I need to clean my glasses.

      • last week when they were out spraying the enzymes etc they never came close into our cove. Our cove is so awful right now. Everything pushes in and has nowhere to go. After being here for 8 summers I can say that without a doubt our cove has gotten progressively worse each year since the bubblers were installed. Super disappointed. The 1st 2 summers our grandkids could jump off the dock and play and swim, now I can’t even let them in the water by our little beach and dock. We kept going go the meetings and were told to just be patient and trust the process, which we did. It’s just a bummer.

  8. Does anyone know what the small buoys are for on the lake? We have seen several and have one near us in the narrow.

    • The ones near shore mark aeration lines where they enter the water. The ones not near shore are temporary and are assisting with the installation of the bio delivery lines.

  9. Can a non-resident dock a watercraft at a friend’s home permanently? I’ve heard many opinions regarding this issue, but no one seems to have any form of documentation.

  10. Can someone put me in touch with the person that has replacement solar powered beacon lights for the buoys. I have one buoy that needs replacement batteries and I can not figure out how to take it apart to replace the battery.
