Do you know if the proposed new developments by the golf course and by spring mills school are part of our special assessment district and will they have lake access
The Highland Hills Golf Course is currently one parcel (11-11-227-001) and is paying the frontage rate (the golf course property runs to the canal along Clubview Dr.).
The property by Spring Mills (11-14-100-054) is not part of our SAD.
I would like to propose that we add a new item to the September agenda on concerns about wake boats and their impact on aquatic life, property erosion and boater/swimmer safety. This is becoming a very hot topic in lake communities across lake communities. A study done by the University of MN has heightened the interest and the Michigan DNR has issues guideline in hopes that lake communities will consider adopting. I am not advocating anything at this point, only that we begin our research and open a dialogue. Its is our responsibility to protect of lake for future generations, protect our community and protect our properties. Attached are several articles and a video to begin the discussion.
I am wondering if there will we any additional weed treatments this year as the weed situation is very bad since August. They are terrible in front of Castle Ct. on the west side of the lake in the straits. Do you know if there will be a different treatment program in 2026?
Bill, we are not planning on doing any more treatments this year since the summer is winding down. As far as next year, we encourage you to come to the lake meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month and we can discuss your ideas and ours. Next meeting will be on the 17th. Thanks!
Thanks for the quick response Matthew. I would love to join for a Wednesday DLA meeting, but I have a Wednesday evening commitment that goes from fall through winter. I will try to make the 9/17 meeting.
sorry for the delay. We’ve been waiting to hear news. The system in middle deck has been down all summer so far and the company that maintains them is waiting for parts. Apparently there are delays in shipping things from China.

There are a couple bubblers in the canal along Clubview that are not working.

Is the aeration system operating on Middle Duck? I don’t see any movement.

Does anybody reply to these inqueries anymore?

I think the company is waiting for parts and then they will come out and fix everything at once
